Founded by Beatrice and Nasser Bakhti in London, in 1991 and moved to Geneva in 1993, Troubadour Films is a creative and innovative independent film production company, providing all aspects of production for series , documentaries and fiction films for cinema and television. We develop, create and produce films with an original insight into what goes on around us. An eye-catching and engaging creative content made for local and international broadcasters and distributors. A work that keeps on winning major acclaim arround the world. Our main goal is to provide high quality programs addressing social and cultural issues such as immigration, cultural identity, education, history or youth concerns.

Béatrice and Nasser Bakhti are a sure, dynamic and experienced team with creative thinking and a flair for great storytelling at its highest level. This is no easy task but we keep on looking for new ways with serious factual content. Troubadour Films in the past few years have produced 9 feature films 2 fictions films and 7 documentaries and have developed a further five which will all be going into Production or release in 2014 and beyond…

    Nasser Bakhti

    Company Founder & Managing Director/Producer

     

     

    Nasser is an award winning Director/Producer with 25 years of experience who has in-depth knowledge and skills in all parts of the film making process, from the creative stages through to distribution. He made high profile programmes for broadcasters such as the Swiss channel RTS, ARTE, Channel 4, TV5 world, Yle TV, History channel, Cuisine TV and Radio Canada. He also has been directing and producing several feature length documentaries and fiction films in addition to overseeing and producing other film-makers providing them with all the necessary resources and supervision to help them bring their vision into reality.

    Received a degree in psychology from the University of Geneva and a degree in filmmaking from LIFS (London International Film School) in 1987. After school, she starts working as an assistant editor then chief editor, always looking for artistic expression and technical perfection. Five years later, with a solid experience in film editing, she moves back to her native Switzrland. Beatrice’s main focus becomes documentary film-making and she starts working as a director for the Radio Television Suisse (RTS) and for several other companies. Her films have been shown in number of festivals and her last work entitled TEEN STORIES 2002-2008 a series of 4 feature length documentries following the life of 7 kids from the age of 12 to the age of 18, was nominated for the Swiss Films Awards, for Best documentary of the year.

    Postproducation manager (design, graphics & video visual effects)

     

    Julien has a degree in Audiovisual, Film and Digital Technology after studying in Lyon. Developing the visual aspects for production and marketing comes easy to this 29 year talented and perfectionist technician. Working with Troubadour Films for the last 5 years, he gained experience and added credits to his name. His knowledge and creative input is a valuable asset to our productions.

    After having worked many years as an independent trainer for voice recognition, and computer programming, Inés Abeya joined the Troubadour Films team in 2001 to look after our computing and administrative and management.
